Question - TAW4 - Importing adobe photoshop file No.63114
mobie29  2010-05-29 03:26:51 ( ID:ppqtqleqm6n )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is it possible to import a adobe photoshop file into the menu templete module in authoring works 4??

If so, what are the steps to do this?

thanks so much.

tkrave  2010-05-29 08:37:19 ( ID:rtaw9vhji5c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes, you can use .psd files for custom menu frames and buttons.

You can then register them and they will appear in the layout selection page when you create a custom menu in the Menu Wizard.

Check out the help file within TAW4 for a detailed explanation of how to set up your .psd layers for each type of menu item.

From within the help file, look at section User Guide-->Start-->Advanced tools-->Menu item tool.

Hi there,

I am using the 4.0.7.32 version of TmpgEnc Authoring Works, but I have problems with the video in realtime.
It shows only the small film (cut/edit window), but doesn´t show the full video in the large video window - it gives me a black screen. Im a using a ATI Radeon 5870 video card. If I use a Geforce card, it works. I saw an older posting takling about similar issue - this did not help.
What can i do?

tkrave  2010-05-28 07:28:40 ( ID:rtaw9vhji5c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

So it's a black screen with video overlay both on or off?

Do you have the latest drivers for your Radeon card?

conderio  2010-05-30 20:09:39 ( ID:p.t5q/g/4na )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

well, i got the latest driver. what about ovleray - there is no such command. i read about, but i do not have it.

platinuma  2010-06-01 03:20:59 ( ID:.pzvurv1uvo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The Problem is that many new Ati Catalyst Driver you should use the latest Works4 Version , then your Problems should be fixed. It's the Combination of Ati Drivers with some older Versions of Works4.That's what i've found out , having the same trouble you had , with my Ati 4890

>well, i got the latest driver. what about ovleray - there is no such command. i read about, but i do not have it.

I'm pretty sure you have the option, since you're using a video card.

Go to the cut-edit screen and right-click on the preview image. Check or uncheck the "Display in a video overlay" option.

And you may also want to update to the latest version of TAW4.

conderio  2010-06-06 02:24:06 ( ID:4yb24gcfaqr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

ok, it's finished - i updated TAW4 and now it is working.

gruenmuckel  2010-11-19 07:11:33 ( ID:zpd493a.05a )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi, I've found a workaround:

Just stop that windows manager of Vista or 7 by "run" -> "net stop uxsms".
No transparent Superbar and Windows anymore but a working TAW.

after your work restart the servive with "net start uxsms"

How do you ADD audio setup within the TOP MENU not in the track menu

tkrave  2010-05-27 02:11:50 ( ID:rtaw9vhji5c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I don't think it's possible. Audio and subtitle buttons only appear in track menus or the title page of a track menu.

This is probably because each track can have different audio/subtitle options.

I have been trying that one for ages Blackbeard, so far, its a no go unfortunately. Would like to see it as an option in future releases though.

Question - TAW4 - Project import from older versions of TMPGENC DVD Author No.63096
Glyn Jones  2010-05-26 03:35:14 ( ID:gmrjahy99kc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello,
I have been using TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.5 for a number of years and have decided it's time I upgraded. I am considering upgrading to TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 but I have quite a few projects in version 1.5 that I would still like to use as I have created menus, custom buttons etc.

The question is will I be able to import these projects into version 4 or will I have to start again from scratch.

Thanks in advance of any answers received.

Glyn Jones.

tkrave  2010-05-26 08:04:38 ( ID:rtaw9vhji5c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You will have to start from scratch. It can read .tda3 and .tda2 project files, but not .tda files.

Question - TAW4 - Stream Error No.63094
Ross  2010-05-25 16:33:52 ( ID:qhvqx0ixiyw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Does anyone know what causes 'Stream Reading Error (Error Code 0X80068001)'. It seems to happen right at the end of a chapter (not part way through). The files I am using are WMV. I have tried using XPRess4 to convert the WMV to a DVD file first and then use that in the BD project and the error still comes up. The only way round it was to import the BD file from the aborted output, insert chapters etc etc and start again and it works.

Thanks

Question - TAW4 - Error burning Dual Layer Discs No.63088
BeThere_Global  Home )  2010-05-24 19:19:23 ( ID:rcpanvsg6um )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi All,

Having real problems whilst burning to DVD in TMPGenc 4. It's been spitting out more coasters than I no what to do with.... please help!!

- I'm using Infiniti 360 +rw 8x Dual Layer Discs
- the dvd files are only 7.5 gig so plenty of space on these discs
- I have burned them at a variety of speeds
- It comes up with an error at the same point each time. 15 mins in to the burn about 50% of the way through.

Could this be due to some error when burning the second layer? How do I resolve it? I've got some Verbatim Discs coming tomorrow in the hope that that may sort the problem.

Any suggestions are gratefully received... thanks

Dom

The brand discs you are using is the problem. Make sure the verbatim discs you are receiving are -DL, not +DL. That should solve your problem,

Hi,

thanks for coming back so soon with an answer. I'll let you know if this solves the problem.

cheers,

Dom

Actually, the best Verbatim's are the +DL, not -DL. Also, if the burning module still doesn't work, you can use IMGBurn which is a freeware to burn your dvds.

Good Luck!

Blackbeard  2010-05-28 03:53:41 ( ID:zjd2v5k8ejo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Burn the DL at the lowest speed. I use 1x and NEVER made a coaster yet.

Sam B.  2010-07-21 09:09:38 ( ID:x4t8num9sa6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello. I too had failures when trying to burn to Verbatim DVD+R DL. But the solution turned out to be checking the burner's Write Speed spec, which for my burner is 4x and only 4x, not the 2.4x that I was trying to burn at. Sometimes a slower burn is not better.

piccolo135  2010-07-25 05:48:56 ( ID:n/ulcnqfh.o )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Can I ask where you got your Write Speed details from? I'm looking to find out mine

Question - TAW4 - TMPGEnc closes program No.63087
mobie29  2010-05-24 14:19:07 ( ID:c2hn14hq7ea )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've had the program for about 4 weeks now. All of sudden, while trying to output to blu ray, the authoring gets to around 4% (writing 1st track) and i get the error message that the program has stopped working and windows must shut down. I uninstalled the program, re-installed, started a different project with different files, and got the same message after it was 4% into the authoring process again.

Please help me. I really like the software and i am very frustrated right now. I used a backup software to output to blu ray and had no problem during the authoring process. The files i am using are 720p with framrate of 59.97.

Not sure why this is happening after 4 weeks into the software.

thanks.

Question - TAW4 - Easter eggs and anamorphic widescreen No.63082
jakewoodblues  2010-05-23 14:29:58 ( ID:vubsg0d/xha )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi --

Loving this software, but 2 questions have come to mind.

1) How do you do easter eggs. I know how to make a link invisible, but I don't want the easter egg to play when I play all in a track. I want the easter egg as a seperate item on the track. Any way to do this?

2) Is there a way to make dvd's that are anamorphically wide screen?

Thanks!

tkrave  2010-05-25 02:17:29 ( ID:rtaw9vhji5c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

1) You'll have to make a separate track for your easter egg. Tracks are the only thing that can return to the main menu after it's done playing. Thus, your easter egg will have to appear on your top menu.

2) I believe that they are anamorphic widescreen by default provided your source material is widescreen.

Question - TAW4 - TAW4 doesn't see DVD drives No.63080
Fang  2010-05-22 04:19:55 ( ID:1qbcd1p1nkn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

TAW4 doesn't see any DVD drives. When trying to build and burn the movie it says there are no usable drives. There're the same drives (DVD burners) it used before. weird

MovieGirl  2010-08-13 08:01:54 ( ID:ezcdnad24pj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Same thing happened to me. I have to use a separate burning software - couldn't figure it out!!

Question - TE40 - bad quality codech.264 (Mainconcept) No.63076
rumek7  2010-05-21 15:01:47 ( ID:za1odj0edsj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

recently bought the program TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress. As we know, somehow contained therein is mpeg2 codec (if I may say) very good. Well, but when it comes to encoding H.264 (MainConcept) is bad for me. At least compared to the x264. I bought this program with a view to having one machine to compress the various formaty.Kompresuję footage from the DVD (Family Movies) settings:

Source material: Interlace, Bottom Field First Pixel Pal 4:3 12:11

Codec settings.

Profile: High Level: Automatic
Size: 720x576
Aspect ratio: 12:11 Pixel
Framerate: 25 fps Progressive (Why can not I encode interlaced?)
2 Pass VBR
3000 kb / s
Video system: Automatic
CABAC coding
The rest is default settings

Compressing the same material as the x264 codec (Megui) at the same settings, the picture is super. Almost there is no material difference in terms of original Nina. I will mention again that once other material encoding in Adobe Media Encoder CS4 also using h264 codec and of the quality I was not too enthused. And he probably has the same codec as TMPGEnc.

So how do you think? Do you have the same feelings? Or maybe I set something wrong? How to encode your video so that does not differ too much from the originals?

Please reply. I apologize for poor English :-)

Frank Corona  2010-05-23 22:35:03 ( ID:1fhultthj5w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

You're doing it completely wrong. You are using TMPGEnc's H263 MPEG4 ASP profile which is similar to Divx. You need to use the H264 MPEG4 AVC profile and you'll see a big quality increase. Mainconcepts MPEG4 codec is not as refined as x264 but it's not too far off.

Can't get it to run at all:

Faulting application name: TMPGEnc4XP.exe, version: 4.7.6.304, time stamp: 0x3c7838d8
Faulting module name: nvcuda.dll, version: 8.17.11.9775, time stamp: 0x4bd8cfd3
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00232749
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Pegasys Inc\TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress\TMPGEnc4XP.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\nvcuda.dll

If I renamed nvcuda.dll actually in SysWOW64, then runs fine. Windows 7 x64 Pro, nvidia driver 197.75 on GTX 480.
