I have a movie that in PAL format and i know pal/ntsc have different frame rates, is their a way i can load the vobs in2 tmpgenc dvd author and have it conver it 2 NTSC?

Kika  2003-06-05 15:42:45 ( ID:gxmkoa4dlnj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

No, you hast to convert the Video with different Tools.

A good Idea is to use AVISynth. There are postings about that in the TMPGEnc-Forum.

Request - CHINESE KARAOKE DVD (Multiple AC3 Streams) No.48591
C_Chen  2003-06-04 15:16:27 ( ID:eucmq9.4xek )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

I was wondering how long it would take to have Multiple AC3 tracks to be supported when editing a DVD in VOB Mode, or in elementry stream setting? This is important since many Chinese Karaoke DVDs are ether one long movie with chapters seperating the videos, or physicl files seperate video files.

If you import a seperate video file, you can only choose 1 AC3 stream to keep. Also, if you edit an existing DVD VOB, to cut and edit out only one video out of the string of videos, you are also limited to choosing 1 AC3 stream.

It would be regarded as the highest feature if you could choose to keep both AC3 streams, and in the case of cutting/editing a movie, have the program cut correctly for both AC3 tracks so that if you extract a Karaoke segment from a whole DVD (Say, one part of a consert) Then for that cut segment you get both AC3 streams.

Thanks!

Cecilia Chen

I agree. I have many HK disks which have dual language ac3 tracks (Cantonese/Mandarin) and if you cut a segment out of it, it would be good to keep both audio streams.

Aaron Tong  2003-06-04 15:32:28 ( ID:eucmq9.4xek )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Wow, I didn't think there was so many users from the same computer network! Anyway, yes please add this support. I recently wanted to cut a Karaoke song out of a movie, but I was disapointed that it only allows 1 audio stream. At the end of the disk is one song which they sing, and because the DVD is dual ac3, one track is voice, one is without. So when I cut the movie at that point, I can only choose one audio stream? I hope you can make cutting cut and keep all audio parts so that way you can keep both tracks when cutting / editing a VOB movie or anything.

Bug report - A./V sync gets lost when a damaged video frame occurs. No.48590
jdiner  2003-05-31 19:59:24 ( ID:vntqcd6mz3n )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This is a great little program. It works on some non-standard mpeg files that I have that nothing else will. A/V sync is kept even in files that have been edited. This is truly great.

However, there is always a however isn't there... :) In several mpeg files that I have there is a damaged video frame. I do not know how exactly this picture is damaged but it is. In my PowerDVD player it shows up as a frame that is only partially right and the rest is garbage. Then in the original mpeg it gets back on sync and everything is fine.

In the output test DVD files from this tool however it is then off on A/V sync for the rest of the playing time of the file.

It looks like you guys are most definately tracking the audio timestamps as this all works with editing but that you are not tracking the Video ones. Could you please add a fix so that a damaged video frame is not off forever after that. If you can I would bet that many many tivo users would jump on board...

Thanks,
--jdiner

Request - Great Start! No.48589

DVD Author is off to a great start! I have been searching a long time for a simple and inexpensive program for editing and adding chapter points to mpeg files. DVD Author does this well, I especially like the auto chapter point feature based on chapter numbers or fixed time.

Requests:
1. I have been putting 3-6 childrens TV shows on a DVD+R disk with MyDVD. I do not use chapter breaks so the submenus in DVD Author are a hassle. I would like the option to create a menu with 1-9 buttons with no submenus.

2. As with previous requesters I consider including sound during editing and chapter selection critical, and for me a necessary feature before I purchase.

3. The ability to burn DVD+R/RW video compliant disks would also intice me to purchase because it would eliminate the need to purchase Nero or an upgrade to EZCD.

4. I would like to see TMPGenc Encoder and DVD Author combined into a single product.

Request - Are you going to make "real" version soon? No.48588
bjg  2003-05-26 07:44:29 ( ID:cos4gchxmxn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Programm seems to be very raw. And for sure not for $68. User interfase is "minimalistic", no multiple audio streams support, menu templates are agly and user are not allowed to change them or even disable "chapter" submenu, it's not possible to make an iso image. After all, there is no VCD/SVCD support, which seems to be a "standard" feature.
One thing is good: partial AC3 support (haven't try it yet).
Sorry, but current version can be called only "DVD authoring plug-in for TMPGEnc+" and sold for $19.99, and only after adding VCD/SVCD support to it and fixing menu builder. Are you going to make a "real" program in closest feature?

Bug report - Changing source video No.48587
Edge  2003-05-25 13:34:29 ( ID:hk9owqwsmll )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

After you create a project, select your videos and look at the menus, you finish and save to work on it later. You go back and decide to change the video source in the tracks but when you go to the track select menu and try to select the displayed frame, it still shows the original video selection and you cannot update it and keep all of the other menu editing you have done.

Question - NO Multiple Audio Tracks No.48586
Toe Knee  2003-05-24 12:48:11 ( ID:m6dojwuh92g )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I used my licensed TMPGEnc Plus 2.58 to create one Video file and one Audio file that contained 2 Audio Streams. Thereafter, I imported into TMPG DVD Authoring to create a finalized DVD.

When played, the DVD has played just only one Audio Stream. (Unable to switch between VOCAL MODE and KARAOKE MODE)

Did I do something incorrectly? If I did, please tell me how to correct it.
Is TMPG DVD Authoring capable of finalizing Multiple Audio?

Thank you for your response.

Question - Encoding files captures with Dazzle DVC 150 No.48584
Joseph  2003-05-21 17:35:23 ( ID:dp.tanpukvw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm trying to encode files captured with a Dazzle DVC 150. They have a file extension of ".mzl". TMPGEnc will not take these as a source file. Any suggestions? I want to try TMPGEnc because when I try to render them in Movie Star 5. The audio and video are out of sync. The longer the source the worse the problem.

tomk  2003-06-03 14:26:27 ( ID:l0ewialc5vr )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

Dazzle splits files at 2/4 GB.
The .MZL file is a simple list for Moviestar5 which files have been made.

Load the .MPG files into tmpg, these are the video files.

Example
Test.MZL

Files : test.mpg, test001.mpg,test002.mpg.....

Question - Menu theme functionality No.48583
Tomas  2003-05-21 17:01:10 ( ID:w9nioantxtg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I used the Cloud 1 theme? When I play it on my DVD the selected chapters or controls get highlighted in yellow. It looks pretty bad especially when this yellow highlight almost completely covers the chapter picture.
Is it possible to customize this? If not wouldn't be better to use different mechanizm to identify selected control or chapter (e.g. frame, corner highlight)

I just created my first DVD using this software. It went very smooth (except for little confusion with the chapters and menus - just needed to reference manual) and the end product DVD+R plays fine.

I would welcome the following improvements:
1. Play audio while creating chapters
2. Allow audio track additions to the Menu pages
3. Add another step in the process to preview the compiled DVD with its menues
4. More Themes or allow creation of personal themes. Can the .tme files be edited somehow?
5. Other software I use (Ulead Movie Factory) allows me to include an MPG2 player with the DVD. Is it possible to have similar functionality for this tool?

Tomas

Question - DVD+R ??? No.48580
Tomas  2003-05-21 05:08:22 ( ID:op5zoqj4ama )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

For the first time I'm trying to use the TMPGEnc DVD Author tool. So far so good. The manual keeps talking about DVD-R, what about DVD+R. Does the AUthoring tool provides anything specifing depending on the DVD disk type -R or +R.

B_Racer  2003-05-21 10:12:06 ( ID:gxmkoa4dlnj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

DVD Author produces Title-Sets. This Sets can be burned with any DVD-Burning-Software and any DVD-Burner, no matter, if it is DVD-R or DVD+R.

1. Non standard DVD resolution override. Allow for user to override the standard resolution. may dvd players support non standard formats. In fact most ALL limits should be removed and replaced with warnings.

2. Also a few more menu templates and ability to move the placement of the 'picture' of the video within the menu. Maybe even release a menu template creator. so that users who need custom templates can make their own. Also allow users to post thier templates to your website so that people can swap their created templates. It allows greater flexability and the users would do most of the work for you.

Otherwise an exelent and fast product. I like this much much better for creating custom DVD's from VHS and homemovies...I've used almost every product out there (DVDit PE, adobe, pinnacle, etc...) and i like this one because I like to control the video/audio compression seperate (via TMPGEnc or CCE) and then build my dvd's with an automated program trying to recompress or alter my settings.

Very good product will be excellent with just a few more additions and improvements.
