Bug report - Software onflict cause disk read error ? No.68329
Frankie  2014-03-01 21:24:09 ( ID:ltjac.geoil )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I found if install "CCleaner 4" before "TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5" , might cause that the CD-ROM could not read the disk properly .
Try reinstall CCleaner might help .

Question - Why does it re-encode clips marked as SR? No.68320
KevinM  2014-02-23 05:37:01 ( ID:dlmsfaeak6h )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have several HD clips which are exactly the same spec and are all blu ray compliant. The are all flagged as 'SR' in the source window onone track. The track setting is 'smart render prioritised'.
BUT when i come to output the project it RE-ENCODES IT all!!!!!!

tkrave  2014-02-25 10:26:46 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Might be a bug if you didn't change any track settings, add transition effects or do some other edit.

Question - Audio from mkv file No.68298
Ricardo  2014-02-06 21:50:20 ( ID:ryd20.wlqqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have downloaded the trial version and I want to test it by creating a BD from several mkv files.
The thing is that the files are loaded ok but just the video, the audio part is not recognized as if the file had no audio.
I understand mkv files are supported so why dos this happen?
Thanks a lot.

tkrave  2014-02-07 10:12:10 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

MKV is a container format, so while the MKV container is supported, the contents (which can be anything) may not be. The audio may be DTS or something else that isn't supported.

Ricardo  2014-02-07 11:05:31 ( ID:ryd20.wlqqo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thanks for your answer, just like you said, it's DTS format.
I never thought DTS wouldn't be supported, specially in a BD creator software.
Do you by chance know a way to convert this particular type of audio into another format wich is supported?
Thanks again

Persen  2014-02-08 22:01:54 ( ID:6tr/46zxmom )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Instal Haali Media Spliter and FFDSHOW 32 bit version, then go in to the renderer settings of TAW5 and remove every marker, eccept the one at Direct Show.
That gives DTS support input, but not output though.

George  2014-02-09 06:40:37 ( ID:2xj.eplz7yk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The free and excellent eac3to tool can handle DTS (and DTS-HD MA) conversions beautifully. You will however need to install the proper DTS codec to do it. Check the doom9.org eac3to thread (first post) for more info.

Question - Renaming or moving video files No.68288
Mr Chris  2014-02-03 08:55:10 ( ID:qicxrvqzthm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

If you rename a video file that's used in a DVD/BD project, and then subsequently try to make changes to the project, this message comes up:

"File C:\[path]\[file].mpg can not be opened."

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to point Authoring Works 5 at the renamed file. Is there a way? Or would I have to re-import the video, thus losing all the careful chaptering and settings? (The same seems to go for moved files, which is a nightmare when working with videos spread across numerous hard drives.)

Please tell me I'm missing something obvious! Can I point Authoring Works 5 at the correct file if it loses track of it? If not, how do I turn this into a feature request? This seems a pretty basic omission to me.

tkrave  2014-02-04 09:21:49 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I get an error box that has a "Browse..." button at the bottom which allows you to select the file.

Question - filtering HD source with Lanzos3 for SD DVD No.68267
Pavel  2014-01-25 23:29:57 ( ID:njcslayrrfa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Has TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5 some option for filtering HD source video with Lanzos3 for downconvert to SD resolution for DVD creation?

Thanks for answer.

Pavel

tkrave  2014-01-29 09:10:56 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

No, it does not. I think TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 has that option though.

Question - Move Chapters on Custom Menu to another Page No.68194
Mikro  2014-01-10 07:10:24 ( ID:fxfao0dmk6h )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is it possible to move chapters from one page to another in custom templates?
Right now i don't see any possibility to do that.

Question - Fade out to play No.68186
Phil  2014-01-06 22:20:02 ( ID:2jjertnjqg6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

I've inserted my own background picture for a single page DVD menu. I have added fade in and fade out to the Background Picture Effects and selected Motion Menu. However, in Simulation motion, the menu neither fades in or fades to play.

Can you help?

tkrave  2014-01-14 07:36:02 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Did you render the motion menu preview? I forget what the button is called, but you will need to render the preview in order to see what the motion menu will look like.

Question - How to Create Barebones Menu Title and Text-Type Buttons No.68149
WHillsRich  2013-12-27 06:22:40 ( ID:t3tcnz.jlur )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm considering moving from DVDitProHD to TAW5. Currently in DVDit I'm able to construct a plain, no-frills menu by creating title text over black background at the top frame, typing "chapter 1" "chapter 2" etc. or other text identifying the chapter along the bottom of the menu frame, leaving space between for the motion/video to loop in the menu. I haven't yet found that totally-custom option in the trial version I just installed. Is one available if I don't want to use a fancy template?

Question - VLC player will not play 24 bit pcm Blu ray audio No.68143
Rick0725  2013-12-25 01:59:55 ( ID:.qui0lgypoj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

There is an issue where 24 bit pcm audio using mpeg2 or h.264/avc video format created in authoring works 4 and 5 will no longer play using vlc player. the format used to play in previous versions of VLC player. 16 bit plays fine as always. please advise if you know of a setting change.

Rick0725  2013-12-26 11:48:21 ( ID:jclnxwz1jm2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The message in vlc is
VLC does not support the audio or video format "undf".

Persen  2013-12-26 20:43:52 ( ID:6tr/46zxmom )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I suggest asking why on VLC's site (forum), considering that its a VLC matter and its lack of support of a video and audio codec.

Rick0725  2013-12-27 02:57:33 ( ID:jclnxwz1jm2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Update.
I uninstalled the current version of vlc player and installed V2.0.0.0. The VLC player played the 24 bit pcm blu ray audio with no issues. Therefore there is a bug in the vlc software somewhere after V2.0.0.0. I posted the issue at the vlc forum. hopefully they will figure it out and create a fix. In the meantime I am going to use v2.0.0.0 because I do not want to risk infecting my computer with malware from downloading older versions from the internet.

Persen  2013-12-28 16:40:47 ( ID:6tr/46zxmom )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Not the first time i hear about bugs in that player. I abandoned it a long time ago because of constant bugs in it and its lack of propper HD support.
Today i use Media Player Classic - Home Cinema 64bit version.

Question - BD Menu creation No.68120
alexago  2013-12-10 01:12:55 ( ID:8w.eeuket1r )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

with TAW5 can I create Blu-Ray menu as I like, for example

First Menu
|
|-------> Second Menu (to choose Track 1, Track 2, etc..)
|-------> Third Menu (to choose Track 10, Track 11, etc..)

This example is to author some TV series and to use one disc to multiple series: first menu it's to choose what series and the others to choose episodes.

Thanks in advance

Question - Blu Ray Authoring Output Speed No.68111
Skychaser  2013-12-03 01:47:40 ( ID:iqaa0nxp90w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm getting estimated output times of 500 hours for a Blu Ray. Any way to reduce this?

I'm running Windows 7 with 4GB RAM.

Any help much appreciated!

tkrave  2013-12-03 06:32:51 ( ID:.yfti6punfa )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

How long has the output been running when you see this estimate? It can sometimes take a couple of minutes to normalize and get a more accurate output time.

Skychaser  2013-12-03 11:01:56 ( ID:iqaa0nxp90w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The longest I've left it is about 20 minutes and I have got a 250 hour estimate.

tkrave  2013-12-04 14:30:24 ( ID:resxbfmz4s2 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

What kind of processor do you have?
How long is your video?

Skychaser  2013-12-05 05:44:45 ( ID:iqaa0nxp90w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It's some sort of Intel ViiV and I'm doing about 4.5h.

It's also half-way there after 20h, so much better!

AndrewS  2013-12-27 23:10:52 ( ID:ugbrja5dfbo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm getting 899 hours for a single-sided DVD. Unfortunately, at my age, I don't have time...

Persen  2013-12-29 16:14:41 ( ID:6tr/46zxmom )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Roughly 8.5 hours to complete a Blu-ray with 3 movies in 1080p on it.
But then, i also built my own computer with the largest CPU i could get for my motherboard (3.4 Ghz Phenom II X4) and 16 GB quad-channel HyperX RAM.
Has that hardware under Windows 7 64bit.
