Bug report - TE30 - Mr No.53423
MButler  2005-03-10 21:42:07 ( ID:uggl1b16g8w )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am having problems with the batch tool in TMPGenc 3.0 Xpress just like everyone else has described. I have read the answer provided in the FAQ on this issue but regret that I am not sure I know exactly what it means and so I do not know how to correct my use of the tool. If I add a number of files but do not register them in the batch tool they all convert properly. It is only when they are registed in the batch tool that every other file ends up all black. This is a great product which I will continue to use except for the batch tool as it is unreliable. Perhaps the development team should reconsider the answer that has been provided in the FAQ to assist us in achieving functionality for the batch tool.

Yes, I have this problem too. I can save the project, and convert the file and it works fine. Take that same project and register it in the batch tool, and I will only get audio, no video. You can tell right away too, since the file size is way too small.

It does not seem to be easily reproducible for me tho, if we could get it reproducible, we could give it to support to fix.

With the latest revision to TMPGenc 3.0 Xpress the batch encoder tool is now working properly. I have used it successfuly for several projects. Thank you for listening Tech Support.

Sakuya  2005-03-10 06:11:22 ( ID:njjiivtkzsw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm making a widescreen DVD. However there are hardcoded subtitles are runs off the sides of the TV screen. What should I do to keep them in and preserve the widescreen?

B_Racer  2005-03-14 09:44:23 ( ID:0jd4rmr3tyn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Send your complains to the creator of the Video ...
You have to make the Video smaler in Picturesize.

Question - TE25 - Program crashes everytime... No.43007
mike  2005-03-09 22:48:25 ( ID:0oaax0ofwrf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm trying to use tmpgenc to convert some avis to mpg2, but everytime i do it, the program stops responding and wont do anything. This happens at the very start of encoding (the new file appears, but nothing works).

I tried encoding other avis from a different source and they work fine, but all of these new files I'm trying to do wont work...

any advice?

thx

Careful, your PC could lack the possibility to see a MPEG-2 file due to a failure in MPEG-2 decoding..this doesn't mean you encoded it badly (for instance: can your PC watch DVDs?).
Just for test, try making, with VCDGear, a SVCD into a CD-RW and watch it on a DVD player...

aldaco12  2005-03-16 09:58:20 ( ID:oqc/f/b5mok )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Just for being sure this is that AVIs problem, try to make a mpeg-1. It should fail, too...

ashy  2005-03-16 10:02:34 ( ID:c9rwdyebxxw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Likely a decoding problem.
First try raising the priority of the 'Directshow file reader' in the VFAPI plugins to top of the list.

If that doesn't work install FFDSHOW.

What is the format of the AVI...XVID, DIVX, etc?

Question - TDA1 - Loop a DVD No.49366
Lee Sullivan  2005-03-09 15:18:52 ( ID:llkq183uyem )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is there any way of looping a chapter on a DVD,

Basically i have a 50 second animation which i need to put on a DVD and it will loop automatically without having to press repeat on the DVD player.

pd  2005-03-26 02:52:25 ( ID:7uifnn7hznj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

HereÃÔ how to loop projects in DVD Workshop:

1. Create a standard blank menu. Change the blue default color to black.
2. Drag a button onto the menu.
3. Drag your video clip onto the button.
4. Set Menu time-out to 5 seconds (or whatever) 1 second works.
5. Go to ÅÅisplay” settings in the button menu. Adjust transparency to 99%.
It wonÃÕ go to 100% but is still invisible.
6. Select Ūnvisible” in button attributes
7. Create disk. You now have a disc that seamlessly loops forever, without a flicker.

Question - TME1 - MR. No.54359
Abell1020  2005-03-09 03:56:02 ( ID:maeu4uvo9lm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am currently starting a buisness i need straight answer as to which program is the best to use for encoding CCE or this. And Which takes the most time the files we will be encoding are 40gb Quicktime files. Please advise

B_Racer  2005-03-09 10:53:03 ( ID:0jd4rmr3tyn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

CCE is a lot faster, but you have to know exactly what you'r doing if you wish a real good quality.

Question - TME1 - Cannot open MPG files No.54358
Guest  2005-03-09 01:07:09 ( ID:asajn6xuvz6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I'm wondering why.
If I select the language to be English in the program and I trying to load in a MPG file, it says the MPG cannot be openned.

However, if I change TMPGEnc to use other language, I can load in the MPG file no problem.

Can Anyone tell me why?

Request - TE25 - AVI to MPEG1 or MPEG2 No.43005
rakaposhi  2005-03-08 14:24:17 ( ID:rahsx4mu4ca )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am new on this post. I was able to successfully convert AVI to MPG format for both SVCD and MPEG2 format. The converted file is a single mpg file. I can not play this play on Power DVD and not even on my home DVD player. but I can play it in Realplayer. Have I done something wrong? I used Sonic Record Now for buring CD.

Is there any guide for encoding and burning process?

aldaco12  2005-03-14 13:33:23 ( ID:oqc/f/b5mok )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Making a MPEG-1 (for VCD) or a MPEG-2 (for a SVCD) is only the 1st step. Now you should make mpeg-1 ---> VCD or mpeg-2 --> SVCD.

Just be careful to split (e.g. with MPEG Tools ____ Merge & Cut) the movie into pieces < 830 MB [usually 2, for SVCDs you can also choose 3] and to use VCDGear or Nero or VCDEasy to make mpeg --> VCD/SVCD image [usually (S)VCD1.bin/(S)VCD1.cue plus (S)VCD2.bin/(S)VCD2.cue].

Finding the right settings for having a MPEG-2 file = 830 MB is a little tricky, I use FitCD and TMPGenc 2-pass encoding for this.

Question - TE25 - How to Cut & Edit DVD ".VOB " files using TMPGen2.5? No.43002
dragonfly  2005-03-08 12:12:51 ( ID:soivqefi9xo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have been trying to use TMPGEnc 2.5 to edit & cut some DVD videos but having problems. On the Project Wizard window I select DVD & try to load the ".vob" files but an error message "...cannot open or not supported." keeps popping up. So how do I go about editing & cutting DVD files into shorter videos to burn on a dvd burner? If it's possible please explain step by step procedure.
Thanks.

aldaco12  2005-03-14 13:27:04 ( ID:oqc/f/b5mok )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I never used TMPGenc for VOBs, but maybe you need TMPGenc Plus to open mpeg-2 files...

aldaco12  2005-03-14 13:45:13 ( ID:oqc/f/b5mok )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

maybe you can open the VOB with VOBEdit first, then using TMPGenc...

Question - TE25 - TMPGenc Plus: no video No.43000
taboo  2005-03-07 23:01:16 ( ID:/hfyfzcuivj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hello People,

My TMPGenc Plus suddenly crashed and now when I am trying to open AVI files I do NOT see Preview (because its black) and output is also black (contains no video) but only audio.

Never had this problem before

1.I reinstalled TMPGenc Plus
2.I installed FFDSHOW
3.My AVIs playing normally in Windows Media Player and VirtualDub
4.I raised priority to the top for DirectShow Multimedia File Reader

What possibly can be wrong?

Thank you in advance,
taboo

Question - TE30 - Playback time discrepancy No.53422
bfinney  2005-03-07 01:17:42 ( ID:imwgov5lsmk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I've noticed that m2v files encoded by TMPG are always shorter in duration than the source avis. For example, I recently encoded an avi that was 1:18:53 in length. The resulting m2v (and mpg when I didn't go to elementary streams) was 1:18:48. The corresponding ac3 file was 1:18:53, as expected.

So the question is, what accounts for the 5 second discrepancy? This isn't a one-time event, and the time difference seems to vary linearly with the length of the clip.

Anybody know what's going on here?

Question - TE25 - Mr. No.42999
SharkHead  2005-03-06 20:16:11 ( ID:14zcefbuy8c )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I am getting an error code when I try to encode an .avi into elementary streams--the code is 29 809119792--does anyone know what this means? It is only doing it on one file-the file does not appear to be corrupt in any way!

TIA,

Ben III

Question - TE25 - 80 hour encode - help No.42997
newbster  2005-03-06 03:40:54 ( ID:wpuq41wjucf )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi,

I am new to encoding. Actually I am trying to capture personal home movies. I used Vdub to capture to HufYUV codec YUY2 for a 1.5hour movie, and it came out to 40gb. No problems at all, it plays fine. I want the final format to be xvid. I was going to use Avisynth to correct color and other stuff, but I found that it was much to cumbersome, one of my friends suggested TMPGENC along with VFAPI to output to xvid.

He told me to select all my settings and save the project as a .tpr file or something like that, then use VFAPI to output to AVI. I ran VFAPI exe and set the input as the tpr and the output as blah.avi, but when I did this, the output file ended up being 1gb and took only like 3minutes to encode, but the video was messed up - it skipped about every 15 frames or so. So when I tried to figure what the problem was, I went to TMPGENC and noticed that I can save the output to AVI without using VFAPI - when i tried this, it said that the encode time would be 80hours. it is still running. is this normal???

ashy  2005-03-06 13:38:03 ( ID:c9rwdyebxxw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

First off I would not use TMPG for what you are trying to acheive.
I would stick with Virtualdub. It is far better at it, faster and the quality will be better.

What is the problem you are having using Virtualdub. It is fairly easy to grasp?
