I am a newbie, but want to convert avi files to mpeg. I tried to this with Nero but wasn't too happy with the quality, especially with SmR films. I decided to try to use TMPGEnc to this, but when I try to do this after about 10% of the encoding is done there isn't any picture in the Black box in TMPGEnc. When I open the mpg file in Windows Media Player to view it there is only sound. What am I doing wrong, can anyone help TIA.
Got rid of DiVX 5.0 and installed the DiVX4 codecs, but nothings seams to have changed. I have WinXP, will that matter? Does it do the sound first and then the picture afterwards? Please help
Have a simular problem, can play the MPEG1 file in windows media player, but when I play the burned copy from Nero, I get audio but no video. I have split the current file previously, because Nero recognizes invalid stream and volume, so it re-encodes it again which throws the video and audio out of sync. So the file re-encoded file did play in my DVD, but the split file does not, just audio. Is there something that I can do in Virtualdub to fix the file and reburn it? Here is the specs of the video: Frame size = 352 x 288, 24.00 fp/s, 37642 total frames, and average bit rate of 2246 kb/s. You might see the problem right here, let me know thanks.
Please help me,
1)In the Project Wizard on step 4, in the cd type drop box, would A NORMAL COMPUTER/MUSIC CD be considered "CD-R 650 MB (ISO)"?
2)I go throught the project wizard and encoded a file. Now that its done encoding, what do I do to it to put it onto a cd that will work in most CD players?
If your making a VCD then burn it as a VCD as long as you chose to make a VCD using TMPGENC. Make sure that your dvd player supports VCD AND CD-R media!
Ok here is the deal, after many of hours I got the mpeg to display in TMPEenc and was happy, went to Easy Cd creator to make the VCD which it does but after making the the VCD I got a great video but no sound. Been trying to figure out why I get no sound on the video.
Also I know there is a way to preview the the video, is there a way to preview the sound.
If you go to the "audio" tab and click on the settings tab next to "audio edit" there you can play the audio from your movie file and change the volume in the encoded mpeg file, and if you go to the "source range" in the advanced settings there you can see your movie and see your audio in a wave graf by moveing the slider but you can"t hear the audio here.........sherlock
ps: try encodeing just a minute
of your file and see if your audio
is there before doing the whole
movie.....
Take a look at:
Video Server Plugin v0.93 for TmpgEnc in Premiere plus others
Together with the video server plugin and AVIsynth/AVIWrapper codec, you can use programs with the Adobe Premiere interface (Premiere/FlasK/Xmpeg/DVDx) as a frame server. This is very useful if you want to code your edited video from Premiere or FlasK with an external (MPEG)-encoder e.g. TMPGEnc or Cinemacraft encoder. To achieve this, the plugin creates a small AVI file. The created AVI can be loaded into the encoder as a normal AVI. This resolves the problem of making a time and space consuming intermediate AVI. If you load this small AVI file into an encoder, the client (aviwrap.dll) makes a connection with the plugin. When an encoder wants to read audio or video, this request is passed to the Premiere Video Server Plugin. Instead of reading the data from disk the plugin fetches the audio/video and sends this to the encoder. Link to the Guides pages. The guides are fully illustrated and are excellent for an end user. The product is Free to private users but Commercial users must register. Also development contributions are sought. Visit the Home Page for information on the various other plug-ins available.
When trying to encode an MPEG, I cannot get source range to exceed 10000000 frames. As a matter of fact, the frame numbers are all screwy. I am trying to encode a video that ends at 01:14:45 and it reads the frame number as 13443999. It should be more like 133425.
Newbie here...I'm getting the following error when I attempt to open an mpg file in TMPEnc: The procedure entry point ThunkConnect32 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll. Any ideas for me?
I need help about encoding a AVI.file(DV-format). okay here's the problem:
I load the AVI.file, and Im starting to encond it to a MPEG.file. But when I press on the button start an error Occures the message was:"An error ocurred when audio was decoded" what's the problem??? HELP PLEASE!!!!
I"m really starting to get pissed off here, every movie I encode with "tmpgenc" I end up with a audio file that is longer or shorter than the original the same with the video, there fore the two files dont match up,and the sync is really bad ,I have done well over a hundred movies with only one comeing out properly, and another problem I allways get "buffer underflow" error.and the audio allways cuts out,and the video is totally jerkey it looks like every one is break danceing...I know this program inside and out and have tried every possible setting, you would think that out of so many times that I would get it right just out of coinsidance, but no such luck.maybe the authors could work on getting the audio and video to mach up better instead of picture quality cuz what use is a good picture if the audio don"t match up........
I read every post in this forum and answer quite a few to and I know its"t my files cuz you can"t have the same problem with over 100 files....they are all dvd rips..but thanx any way,I think my problem is I am useing seperate audio and video streams and "tmpgenc" cant sync them properly.I need a program that will multipex avi files or rip vob files to avi and merges the video and audio streams...so if any one knows of sutch a program let me know....
I was able to fix it by of-setting the audio track by 1.65 seconds I will have to do this for all the movies but it still gets choppy at high motion parts.........
Why won't TMPGenc accept a 16x9 file that I rendered out of after effects? It's a true 16x9 image, but when i pull it in, it reads it as 1:1. Then when i try to encode it, it gives me some error about it having to be between 8x8 and 4088x4088, and multiple of 8.
Hmm, don't bother with the 16:9 format. I think tmpgenc says 1:1 becaus it will encode it wo 16:9 anyway. If you have a scourc that is widescreen it will be encoded to 1:1 with the black bars anyway.
Just try and encode for a bit and see what it looks like, some of the functions in tmpgenc are a bit strange to understand, don't get to worryd about them.
NTFS can only be used in Win2K and XP you can not use it in win98 , I'm not shure about millenium or NT...If your running 98 you can install 2000 as a secon OS on your machine and do a duel boot. thats nice because you can have 98 aswell as 2000. A second HD or additional partition will be nessasary to instal and when you install just select NTFS to partition /format it. Good luck
i just downloaded an avi movie and the pixel size of that movie is 640x272. i just finished converting that avi file to mpg, but it's not the same size as the original avi file that i downloaded. i tried every option in the "source aspect ratio" and "video arrange method", but nothing seems to work. i want the vcd to have the same output size as the avi file, but the conversion files i've been trying just stretches the picture and it doesn't look good. is there any way i can change the video file to 640x272 pixels? please help me...thanks
when makeing "vcd" your aspect ratio gets converted to 352 by 240 so I don"t think you will be able to keep the resolution to look exactly the same but do this and it should help, under the "advanced" screen in "settings" under "video arange method" choose "full screen custon size" and change the settings to
640 by 272 this should work for getting the screen to look the same size as the original......hope this helps....................Sherlock
what is the best settings to use to take a DVD and make it into a VCD? I would also like to know about the GOP structure and what if any changes to make would it do. my home player only supports vcd and xvcd but not svcd.
