I will NOT e-mail you Techno. You seem like an egotistical punk KID who needs to get a life other than computers AND GROW UP! Just because you have experience does NOT mean you can treat others as though they know nothing, as I have seen repeatedly in the TWO times I've visited this site's boards. I request not to have any more of your "advice" and "wisdom". Go bother someone else.
To all those who refuted, thank you for your advice and support. :o) But I ask that if you can help me encode an mpeg-1 or mpeg-2 for VCD or SVCD at DVD quality, please e-mail me or contact me on AIM at tvgm18. It'd be wonderful to have one-on-one help rather than play tag on the message board. :o) (p.s. techno, this does NOT mean you) If you need me to, I will get ICQ as well, and I do have Yahoo messenger, too. I'd really appreciate your help and support. :o)

Judging from standard of VCD/SVCD/DVD, this question means nothing.
okok I said i ingore him but the reason for this email only is just too good to let go by uncommented.
The templates aso. of TMPgenc are TEXT files. Snap and Paste rules here. Or how about making a downloadpage on his website ... or just explaining what has to be done(GOP Structure this setting, VBR that setting bla bla)

I'm using TMPGEnc to convert DVD -> SVCD. I currently use Azid to decode the AC3-sound to WAV and then TMPGEnc to convert this WAV and the Video to (S)VCD. But there is one problem: TMPGEnc does not allow to specify an audio delay when muxing the streams. It would be really great, if TMPGEnc would allow me to specify the audio delay reported by DVD2AVI oder SmartRipper when setting up the encode process. This would allow to prevent lip-synch-problems so that the resulting mpg-file is completely perfect after encoding and no additional demuxing and remuxing using another tool would be required.
I know there are other possibilities to do this (e.g. using DVD2AVI to decode the AC3 or using HeadAC3), but I think it would be the easiest way to let TMPGEnc handle this, as it is the program that multiplexes the streams.
In all other aspects, TMPGEnc is the best tool around!
Does anyone know how to make the video that you burn to a vcd fit the TV that you are playing it on? When I play it on my tv the tops, bottoms, and sides are all cut off. Does anyone know how to fix this?
i was converting a divX to mpeg, and already did the first half, which wored fine.
when making the second half though, i pressed Start and got "Stream Writing Error"
any1 know what this is???
Prolly a space issue on your HDD
Check in the Options drop down menu (top left) where TMPGenc's working directory is and change it to a partition with more space
I am having problems converting DivX avi to SVCD. I am using ver 2.53 trial.
The pictures fine but I get no audio. Even before you convert the file
the audio does not show up under the picture, yet the original will play fine on media player or PowerDVD. Do I need to put the codecs in the Tmpgenc dir?
I CONVERT FROM *.AVI TO MPEG TO watch movies on a vedio cd ,after that i make a copy on a cd with ( pal, system ) on 70 min 650mb ,and when i put the cd in the vcd a message appear (( no disc )) , i don't know why ??? and i need to know why ???
thanks,,

I too burned many a disc that read "NO DISC" when I punched play. I resolved this by making sure the MPG was WHITE BOOK compliant. VCDEasy doesn't tell you if your MPG1 is WHITE BOOK compliant or not. Easy CD Creator 5.0 Platinum does with a big happy yellow check mark. Now they ALL play!
I never messed with MPG2 (480X480). Takes too long to convert and burn anyway and can only fit 35 minutes on a CDR.
VCDEasy is a nice burner but all the checkboxes are confusing and don't predict what you will get if you check one or not. A lot of us are newbies but having fun never the less.
I made a VCD for a friend this week. He wanted to see a homemade flick (old school stuff) on his RCA RC5240P DVD player.
Now the resulting MPEG file works just GREAT on my PC but on the DVD player the video sometimes looses sync with the audio; when this happens the player plays the video too fast and the audio has a 1-2 second delay. This obviously turned the flick into a coaster :(
The sync problem is further aggravated by fast-forwarding the flick.
I used TMPG 2.53, my source is in DIVX3.11 in 23.976fps and I my audio is an uncompressed WAV file. The resulting MPEG-1 (NTSC-FILM 352x240) was written to VCD by Nero 5.5.6.4. All parameters are untouched in TMPEG.
Now I will try to deactivate "Detect Scene Change" but I'm wondering if this is going to help.
If anyone has any experience with this type of problem, I would appreciate your feedback :) My impression is that the RCA team implemented a very *strict* version of MPEG-1 into their decoder.
I am having a very annoying issue when i encode a divx5 avi file to mpeg2 for DVD.
The video and audio or of excellent quality.. but as the movie progresses the video and audio become more and more out of synch. after about an hour of watching you can actually see the lips move about 4 seconds before you hear the voice. The movie Im trying to re-encode is divx5 and has encoded mp3 audio and the filmspeed is at 24 fps. Ive tried encoding it at standard 29.97, then 3:2 pulldown then inverse telecline.. None worked.. similar or worse results in each.
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I am getting really weird stuff from 2.53. I went back to 2.51 and everything seems fine. Weird stuff like very grainy picutre, pixelization, jerky movement in pans, and interlaced frames appearing where there are none in the source vobs.
Anyone else seen some of these things in the latest version?
Ive had a great deal of probs lately 2.53. It says that it cant write to C: drive randomly (actually about every 7 seconds) and i have to put something on top of the ESC button to keep it going and not stop encoding. A big let down. 2.51 was the best for me. Worked every time!
Yes
use TMPEGEnc
select File>Mpeg Tools
then select the Merge and Cut tab
change the Type to Mpeg1(Video CD)
select Add to add your movie
Browse to select your file name and destination
then highlight the movie and select Edit
Move the slide bar to about 1:17 for your first CD, Hit the "]" for the end
hit Run
do the same for the second CD, I usally go back 5secondsfrom the end of the first part for the start of the second CD
