Question - TE30 - Periodic License Renewal not good No.53084
anton  2004-05-20 11:51:04 ( ID:at0ygnxhyen )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I just upgraded to version 3 and the ac3 plugin (from 2.5)
My edit computer does not have an internet connection, this is common sense!
I had to steal a modem from another computer in order to cativate the software, only to find out that I need to do this on a periodic basis, that is not good since I bought the software and I have the license key already.
What is the definition of periodic, once per week, once per month, once per year? if less than once per year, I must get my money back and I will continue to use 2.5 which works excellent. I simply don't have time to install a modem on a regular basis to activate software that I already own!

Kika  2004-05-20 22:45:30 ( ID:qkyo0nicg8j )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Same here. After one Day of testing (nad extra installing and removing XP to be able to test it), i'm back to TMPGEnc 2.5.
Periodic Licencing ? How long will this be supported? What to do in a couple of Years? Maybe the company will be gone some day - and then? Throw the software into the Trashcan?
I definatly will not use such restrictive software.

TmpegENC3.0 ... Weekly relicensing? Your kidding, right?

With the new so called "Intenet Viruses" being the new frontier for hackers, you don't have to do anything to get infected except be connected to the Internet. You cannot connect safely to the Internet with a Microsoft product.

My edit computer is my livlihood. It has never been connected to the Internet ... never will be.

I hope you folks at TMPGEnc Net change your policy because I can't afford to change mine!

Cheers,
Gil

I agree, this really stinks. With the quality of this trial not even working, due to expiring one day after I get an e-mail advertising it. How do I know they will be up and running tomorrow? I can't get the trial to even start the first time. I find it hard to trust this quality in the long term.

Question - TE30 - No Way No.53083
Stolen  2004-05-20 02:17:31 ( ID:d./d9i9jflm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

To be able to try out this new software, you can download a Trial Version, but must have an Internet connection in order to use the functions.
Consider these three points:
(1) In most cases you will have to disable your Firewall !!!
(2) I want to install TMPGEnc Xpress on a different computer which is not connected to the Internet. Why? My video capture computer has NEVER been connected to the Internet, and that is why it is still virus free !!!!
(3) If and when you want to rebuild or re-install Windows, you'd better hope that Pegasys is still in business, online on the Internet, in order to reinstall Xpress.

Sorry Pegasys...After purchasing TMPGenc Plus, DVD Source Creator, and TMPGEnc DVD Author.....You've lost me !!!

Question - TDA1 - Chapter Edit Stalling Software No.49148
WiJoKaWe  2004-05-19 20:54:13 ( ID:ebfxdsg2nif )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

When trying to go into the chapter edit cut menu, the DVD author is putting the software on not responding.

This happened after upgrading my processor from 1.7 tot 3.06 Ghz, and changing the videocard (Hercules AIW 9800SE)

Does this sound familiar to anyone ???

Question - TE30 - Trial Period Expired right after install ? No.53075
Tom  2004-05-19 17:26:00 ( ID:d./d9i9jflm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I just downloaded the trial version of 3.0 express. As soon as I installed it, it said the 14 day trial was over. Kind of hard to do since it hasn't even been out for 14 days. ANy input ?

Please verify your computer'calendar settings. On our side we are changing the activation server settings to avoid this kind of problem in the future.

Tom  2004-05-20 02:18:57 ( ID:d./d9i9jflm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Thank you. I shall try it tomorrow again.

wcpaul  2004-05-20 07:19:12 ( ID:m8km0qiv2po )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

This happened to me too. Now that it has failed, our computers will probably never be able to install it again. (The registry will have a record of the expired trial.)

Is it even worth the effort to try again if this is the quality we can expect?

Tom  2004-05-20 22:37:04 ( ID:d./d9i9jflm )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

It works now after a re-install so it appears they have resolved the issue. I would try it again.

dialtone  2004-05-23 03:13:45 ( ID:4nkefs6u8rk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

One word....NOPE!

It's not fixed! Glad you got it working. I've tried it on different computers, too. Uninstalled, reinstalled, and modified. Nope, not working here.

dialtone  2004-05-24 14:50:53 ( ID:4nkefs6u8rk )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Two days later, it now works. Can you afford to wait days before you start each project?

putn  2004-09-22 01:29:22 ( ID:enmly8kku7k )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Trial still expires upon installing here - so problem not fixed.

Never had TMPG Express installed before.

Pegasus loses my business with this kind of nonsense.

My computer is set to EST for business reasons. I am in PST time zone.

No way I am going to change my time zone for any program!

Good Bye Pegasus!

Question - TE25 - 3.3 sec of audio lost? video O.K. Other machinie works great. No.41694
AVNewbieByDefault  2004-05-19 03:30:48 ( ID:eij.e1kgvv6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Please help me get up to speed. I am standing in for the regular engineer and having to get experience by trial by fire. Using a 2.8Ghz, 1GB RAM, 800FSB PC with Win 2000 and the latest TMPGEnc version as an encoder, we compressed over a dozen MPEGs to 352X240 29,97fps CQ_VBR 90 Layer 2 48000Hz 120kbps. Most of the inidividual projects created a great reduced size file. But about 8 of the compressed MPEGs dropped the last 3.3 sec of audio when we played them. They started at 30.3 and the audio cut off at 27.0. All the video was fine, full 30.3 sec, but silent at the end. As a learning tool, I had downloaded a copy of the TMPGEnc software on a PC at home (Pent II, 266Mhz, 128MB RAM running Win 98 SE). I took the 8 original files home to experiment and the final product was great. Same template was used at both locations. Can anyone explain this? I really need the machine at work to do the job for us. What do I change?

I think a little more detailed info on your actual problem and what you are trying to acheive wouldn't go amiss here.
Also why the hell did you post it as a bug report?

B_Racer  2004-05-19 11:01:21 ( ID:0jd4rmr3tyn )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

@satelanewsnetwork

Guess the Video was from interlaced Source.

Try this with AVIsynth:

AVISource("neogeo.avi")
BicubicResize(352,240,0,0.6)
v1=selectevery(2,0)
v2=selectevery(2,1)
vid=Interleave(v1,v2).weave()
#vid=Interleave(v2,v1).weave() #don't know the right field order
Return(vid)

This results in a Half-D1 interlaced Video (29.97 fps).
(can't test it here, but it should work)

Hi,

Everytime I try to open an AVI file I get an error saying that the format is not supported. I have the NIMO codek pack installed and I'm able to watch the movies on my computer. I'm running on windows XP. Does anyone knows whats happening?

Thank you

Sakuya  2004-05-17 01:11:29 ( ID:nf3yadeqqlc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Try opening TMPGEnc and then go to the Environmental Settings. Under VFAPI plug-in, right click on the number next to "Directshow Multimedia File Reader" and click on "Higher Priority" again and again until that row is at the top of the list. Then, try opening your AVI again.

Question - TE25 - Choppy Audio from AVI to MPG No.41682
Jessica  2004-05-16 01:20:44 ( ID:ocud6fzwbwj )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi, everyone. I hope someone may know what's going on here, because I definitely don't. LOL

I have an AVI that I have been attempting to convert successfully for the past 7 hours, and have been failing miserably. I am using TMPGEnc to convert to MPG (or m2v and mp2) so that I can use TMPG DVD Author to output it to DVD. However, every time it converts the AVI, the audio is choppy (it skips every few seconds), even though the video does not. It still ends up lining up with the video, but it hangs for a split second, then stutters, then plays like it should. I've tried so many different fixes that I'm not even sure what I've tried and what I haven't. I've kind of exhausted all of the options I know of, though.

AVI STATS
----------
Video Codec: MP43 (S-Mpeg 4 version 3)
Runtime: 00:02:42 (4,900 fr)
Bitrate: 273 kb/s
FPS: 30.303

Audio Codec: divx (same as wma) (0x0161) DivX Networks
Bitrate: 22 kb/s (11/ch, stereo)
Fs: 32000 Hz

Please let me know if any other info is needed. Any help is VERY much appreciated. Thanks so much!

- Jess

ashy  2004-05-16 17:08:58 ( ID:m.omi/i.imo )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Just encode the audio to wav first with an audio editor and use that as your source.

jdmar69  2004-05-18 07:23:23 ( ID:l5iudigv3eh )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Are you sure, you don't have compressed audio? well if not sure why not give a try and do the same procedures you'd made afterwards...
