For most of my AVI files when i encode the file has no sound, this is not the case for all my AVI's but most, I've successfully encoded many MKV files, but I'm having problems with the AVI's, is there a certain codec i need or something?

Hi All,

I have a question. I have a few mpg files I want to demix and than mix again on a dvd project. But it i Demix the file and mix it again without doing anything als the audio and video are out of sync. The longer in the movie the more out of sync.

After Demix I get 2 files:
1 Filename.m1v (44 min and 14 sec)
2 Filename.mp2 (44 min and 12 sec)

Is it normal the audio and video aren't even long ????
And how am i going to get the audio and video back in sync ???

Thanks in advance.

Question - Multiple AVI's No.54301
DragonMasterZero  2004-10-31 00:07:14 ( ID:dh76p4c7u5. )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Is there a way to turn multiple AVI's into one mpeg-2 file?
I'm trying to make a DVD of around 13 20 min Episodes of a TV series, but if I do it 1 at a time the file size gets way too big

wile_e  2004-11-01 19:18:30 ( ID:3jityvgcqdw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Yes you can with TMPGEnc. Just load the AVI file. Then select output to one mpeg file. But 13, 20min episodes is too much for just one 4.7GB DVD. You would have to choose very low bitrate. Or use TMPGEnc 3.0's XDVD option to squeeze more video on the disc. Best to put on multiple DVD's or buy expensive dual-layer DVD recordable discs.

infiNex  Mail /  )  2005-04-12 00:29:06 ( ID:wfwibjonkx6 )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have tried multiple AVI but there is no way to add more than one file. Once I add the first file the source area "locks" or goes grey. Some more detailed instructions would be appreciated.

Request - output clips separately No.54300
wile_e  2004-10-30 20:38:43 ( ID:koszrrbs2if )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Hi, I would like to see this option in future version. "Output clips separately", same as TMPGenc encoder.

I want to use MPEG Editor to batch re-encode files, but it only allows you to output to one file. No option to "output clips separately". Batch encode is almost useless to me, without this option for separate files.

thanks for making great, easy software. Hope it becomes even better.

Question - Invalid pointer operation No.54294

Im trying to encode Xvid to mpg but when opening the xvid TMPGEnc says "Invalid pointer operation." How to fix this issue? (sorry about my english)

Ulakanulot  2004-10-23 11:50:58 ( ID:l5rd5.xrccg )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

I have the same problem with an XVID-avi file. TMPGenc says "Invalid Pointer Operation" when I use the "Source range"-filter.

Can anyone help?

wile_e  2004-11-01 19:27:43 ( ID:3jityvgcqdw )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

The problem with Xvid, is that it is MPEG4. TMPGEnc MPEG Editor does not support MPEG4 files. It only supports standard MPEG-1 and MPEG-2, DVD-Video files or DVD-VR (.VRO) files recorded with standalone DVD recorder.

See feature list here:

Joe Hecht  2004-11-02 09:53:28 ( ID:yclzyhyhjqc )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

While the file format may not be supported, an "Invalid pointer operation" is caused by poor programming practices, and should never happen in a well written application. A well written application would announce "xyz file format is not supported".

Basically, this condition it is caused by a "wild pointer". Pointers point to memory addresses to be written to or read from. When you try to read or write to an invalid address, you may very get a "Invalid pointer operation" (or an access violation).

Somewhere in TMGEnc, either the pointer that is used is getting stomped on (overwritten with a bad address), or the pointer is incremented to point somewhere that it should not read or write from.

A good programming technique would be for TMPGEnc to provide a message such as "Invalid pointer operation in module xyz : line xxxx", so it could be accuratly reported to the programmer, and he would immediatly know where the invalid pointer operation happened, and could easily fix it. This assumes that the "support" people would actually listen to a bug report, and forward it to the programmer.

Request - Can set the source video bitrate manually No.54293
pwong  2004-10-12 07:48:05 ( ID:9drwkttbm4l )   [ Delete / Reply with quotation ]

Sometime, TMPGEnc MPEG Editor cannot detect the correct video bitrate. It will be good if user can set the source video bitrate manually.

I have some clips which is 2300kbps mpeg-1 files encoded by Intervideo mpeg codec. But TMPGEnc MPEG Editor dectect them as 263kbps video. So when joining the clips, the re-encoded portion is very ugly.

fire up dvd2avi and start fram serving with vfapi so tmpeg just sees the raw frames and import the audio as a wav (dvd2avi will do that for you too)

I am trying to import my mpeg 2 4:2:2 file but i keep getting an invalid sample format error code 0x80048002. Does anyone know why its rejecting my video? I only have the trial version, as obviously, i want to see if it will work. I am using it to join compatible MPEG files into one file.

MPEG2 4:2:2? That's HP@HL or 422P@ML, not MP@ML, maybe that's the reason

>I had this problem and fixed it by removing an ac3 filter.

I am using the Ace mega codec pack.

Using the ace dashboard, this is in the filter section, AC3 filter audio decoder 1.01a file AC3filter.ax.

I got the file name from Gspot.

Remove it using ace or use Gspot to change the merit so that it wont be used.

You can use Intervideo,Intervideo audio decoder 5.3.5.20 file Iviaudio.com or
Moonlight odio dekoda 1.26b4 file mlcom.ax.

Nero came with Nero digital audio decoder, file neaudio.ax. This also works.

Ace says that the moonlight is poor quality so I am using intervideo.

how do i do?

The main problem is that it is in wrong directory, so go to start and search for files and type p3package.dll,then u will get the file, copy it to your desktop and then cut it and paste it to system32 folder in windows directory for windows Xp users and for other windows users copy the file where u will see many files or dll's, which is in system or system32 folder. Then do the same with p4package.dll which u will see error later when u have paste p3package.dll
