I've used 4.0 XPress and DVD Author 2.0 quite happily for several years but I've just moved to Windows 7 and when I launch the DVD Writing Tool in DVA 2.0 I get the message "The program can't start because px.dll is missing."

It seems there were problems way back with version 1 but can anyone help with today's manifestation?

I have the same problem with Win 7. I suggest you get Imgburn which is a free burning tool (CD and DVD). Just make the DVD with Author and then drag the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders to Imgburn (when its running). That will burn the DVD for you.

I currently have TMPGEnc DVD Author 2.0 and wish to upgrade in order to access some AVI files on my computer. I have them on disc as well but they don't play on the DVD recorder.

I am finding it very complicated to even upgrade. Can someone please let me know how to dothis?

I think there is not an upgrade available from your Author 2,0, you may need to get the User´s discount showed in Authoring 4 which is the latest version,
Author 3 is already discontinued.

I have demux an Blu-Ray VC1 with tsMuxer into different files:
- one VC1 for the video VC1 1920x1020 in 23,9 fps
- two AC3 for the audio channels
- two SUP for two subtitles

In TMPGEnc Authoring 4, I want to create an BLU-RAY .
I import the source file VC1

So I user TsMuxer to create a TS file from just the video channel.
Now I can import it, add the two AC3 files and the two subtitiles (after converting in SRT with SUPrip), I can create the Menu.. the chapters.. etc

Everything is ok... until ...

I can't simulate the result ... neither output ..
I have an error :
the track xxxxxx invalid video pulldown mode ?

What does it mean ?
Why I can import, edit the video, but not output ?

I think to import Blu-Ray VC1 into Authoring 4 is still not supported, that is why becomes error, thsi could be a request for them.

i cannot play the .divx rendered by tmpgenc with the menu at the beginning. it just plays the first track automatically?how should i play it? and also how do i burn the 4.1 gig .divx file so that my divx player will treat it like menu style?

You need a DivX ULTRA certified player to see the menus, otherwise it will go straight to the videos like you are describing.

I'm having trouble with the authored disc playback. the MPEGS are all fine when you play them on a PC and the authoring process works and a disc is produced, but on playback there is digital breakup of the image just near the end of each chapter, This has not always happenned always but is happenning all the time recently. the whole image pixelates right at the end. Has anyone experienced this and does upgrading to version 3 solved this for anyone?

I've just started using DVD Author 3 I have created a project with page 1 welcome screen, page 2, 6 chapters for 6 clips.
1. How do you get only one clip to play
2. How to at the end of the clip to return to page 2 (it currently goes back to page 1).

I just paid $89.95 for the retail version of DVD Author 3. First I had to BUY the software on line and then a page opened with the serial #. Then I had to copy & paste that into their webpage so I could download the software. Then I installed it and they said to restart my computer, which I did. But, then when I opened the program, they again asked for the serial #, but once I restarted my computer, that page of course dissappeared. I checked my email, but they never sent the serial # there. Now I'm out $89.95 and they are impossible to reach. What do I do?

Sorry to be a nuisance but what do I need to do to install DVD Author 3 upgrade over DVD 2.0?

Do I need to uninstall the 2.0 or just go ahead and install 3 over the top?

DVD Author 3 is considered a separate program so it will not overwrite your old DVD author 2. You can pretty much do whatever you want with DVD Author 2 and it will not affect 3 and vice versa. Could uninstall if you dont use it anymore but either way it wont affect DVD author 3.
