TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.5 & 1.6 / TSUNAMI MPEG DVD Author BBS [ Sorted by thread creation date ]
I tried to author a dvd the other day and got to the final step. When I clicked write to dvd button it told me that I hadn't configured my dvd burner. I clicked on the button and it said the that the drive was stopped. Can anyone help? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive but no game. Thanks a ton.
Check for a process called "bgsvcgen.exe" in your task manager. If its not there then you will need to turn it back on. Right click My Computer > Manage > Expand services and applications > services > double click on "B's Recorder Gold General Service Library > then start the service and set it to auto start on system boot up.
I successfuly set up "TMPGEnc DVD Author v3.0.5.149" on my laptop,
but encountered problem when set up on my desk computer.
The hint are as below,
"The wizards was interrrupted before TMPGenc DVD Author 3 with Divx Anthoring could be completely installed.
Your system has not been modifiled. To complete installation at another time, please run setuo again.
Click Finish to exit the wizard."
That's it.
My stestem is XP With SP2, and system disk in fat32 format. Is that the problem, or should I turn on any of the system services?
Awaiting for your reply,Thank you!
Just had a quick question I was hoping someone could help me with.
I use TMPGEnc to burn DVDs, and I’ve generally been satisfied with it. Starting today I have encountered a problem I have never seen before.
When I attempt to burn a DVD, the whole process appears to proceed as normal. It takes the usual amount of time, it appears to be doing what it’s usually doing, it tells me it’s been completed successfully, etc.
But the DVD itself remains (apparently) blank. I put it in and it does not play, and when I check the contents of that drive when it is inserted, it shows nothing.
I’m wondering if it has something to do with how it’s interacting with Windows. I have Windows XP, and while I have burned DVDs successfully since I’ve had that, I know there are frequent automatic Windows updates, and maybe one of those changed something that’s screwed up TMPGEnc.
Or if it’s something I intentionally did, I think I know the most likely culprit. A few days ago, for I think the first time, I burned a CD using whatever comes with Windows XP. I don’t remember the exact process, but I remember I used Windows rather than any additional software like TMPGEnc.
Could it be that that somehow reconfigured something on my computer to where when a blank something is placed in that drive, it can only do something with it through Windows and blocks any other software like TMPGEnc?
In any case, how do I reset it so TMPGEnc is again able to communicate with my computer so I can burn DVDs?
On most programs when I double click their output files... the program opens up...
With TMPGEnc DVD Author... I can only open it from within the program... and the file better not have been moved from the original folder!
Is there any way you can "fix" it so that you can click the tda file and open the project? Thus be able to: 1) move the file from the folder originally used? or 2) rename the folder? or 3) rename the file?
This would be very helpful for archiving purposes.
First I use TMPGEnc to encode my videos too vcd format. About half way through the tmpge batch I will stop it to see if I can load the movies into dvd author, it would work. When the batch is done, about %90 of the movies gives me the this is an illegal file error, most be mpg1 of mpg2. Anyway I can fix this problem?
TMPGEnc DVD Author is a DVD (not VCD) authoring tool. I suggest that you use TMPGEnc to encode my videos to DVD format(not VCD format). I would also suggest that you never interrupt TMPGEnc when it is encoding a mpg file as it may result in errors in your file.
please help.
it seems i can no longer load video to a track, even the older
files that already been processed by 1.6
at the screen of adding the video file there is not file to select
even the files exists.
When creating a Dual Layer DVD, is there any way to set where the breakpoint occurs? This is the frame that freezes for a few seconds when the DVD switches layers.
I bought Nero 7 ultra edition. I was able to edit video and burn it to DVD with no problem. As soon as I downloaded the newest program versions all of the video is out of sync with the audio. (example: the lips move then 1 second later the words come out.)
I called nero and they suggested re-coding the files using tmpgenc. Will this help? I never had to use an encoder before so, be gentle :)
i've downloaded a bunch of "public domain mpeg cartoons" and trying to burn them to dvd. after trial and error i've found they have dolby digital sound tracks so when i tried to do authoring with roxio dvd builder but i got no sound, i downloaded your TMPGEncDVDAuthor16 and same problem but at least it said i need to get the ac3 plugin, well that does not work with the trial version. WHY won't a mpeg pre-incoded with dolby digitl play sound in author16??? i can understand having to buy the DD ac3 if i want to in-code my own video with DD. so is there some sort of converter that can convert mpeg with dolby to mpeg with mpeg1 audio???? or is there another plug-in (codec - i've tried the AC3 open source codec but that does not seem to work with you product) to use with author16 for dolby digital mpeg files. these mpeg videos all play fine using wmp9 on the computer.
i was thinking of buying author16, was really nice to use and priced right. but alot of the public domain mpeg (lots of old westerns) seem to be in-coded with dolby digital and the ac3 plugin seem over priced
or any other suggestion you have to get around this problem.
I have been using this software to edit before copying to DVD-Rs from Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T recording. I have also used Video ReDo Plus after editing. Both with a trial licence. Is there a single piece of software available to do both? If so how much is it? If not what is the current cost for using/continuing to use my trial set-up? [This trial set-up was at Hauppauge recommendation.]
Many thanks in advance.
Hi, some of the files I've imported give me an error message when I try to edit them. It says "Illegal MPEG system stream" What is that? I've imported other dvd files off the same dvd and they don't give me this message. Any thoughts?
