I recently purchased a license for TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3. It seems like it verifies the license over the internet every time I start the program.
What if my internet is down? Can I still use the program?
And what happens if TMPGEnc were to go out of business in the future? Would I be able to continue using the program?

It shouldn't verify each and every time you use it, unless you don't use it often.
If your internet if down, you're SOL.
Not sure what would happen if they went out of business. If that ever happens, I'd hope that they get rid of the validation process.
